About Hayward Composite
We are a multi-school, multi-city mountain bike team for students in Grades 5-12 from the Hayward, Castro Valley, and San Leandro areas.
We are governed by the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). We race in the NorCal Mountain Bike League.
We welcome riders of all abilities, backgrounds, and genders.
Our purpose is to get more kids on bikes, spend more time outdoors, get exercise and make new friends. We are fully run by volunteers who enjoy mountain biking and introducing kids to the sport.
We offer training, adventure riding, and opportunities to race. Racing is not mandatory. Loaner bikes are available!
Practices and rides run from December to May. We typically practice on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Some Saturday practices are replaced by Adventure rides around the bay area and by race weekends.
